From the book rack

I read this book called Nights of Rain And Stars by Maeve Binchy ...its one of the good fiction book that i have read of late.

It is set in a tiny Greek seaside village called Aghia Anna...tourists from Germany,England,US and Ireland enter a hilltop taverna (restaurant).Chance has brought them then and there, together in the middle of their separate journeys...and together they find new ways of looking at the lives they left behind or should i say running away from...

Interesting read in some free time :-)

Sri Lankan Cricketers meditate

COLOMBO (AFP) — Sri Lanka's cricketers on Friday wrapped up a
post-trauma course of deep breathing and yoga taught by an Indian
spiritual guru to overcome the shock of the Lahore attack.

Swami Sadyojatha, from the Bangalore-based Art of Living Foundation,
taught the 23-member squad special breathing techniques and meditation
to "unlock the stress" after the deadly assault.

Bruised and shaken by the terror attack in Pakistan, Sri Lankan cricketers are breathing easy after undergoing yoga and meditation taught by Indian spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

Kumar Sangakkara, the dynamic and optimistic new captain of the Sri Lankan cricket team, said that he felt relaxed and calm after just two sessions of the Sudarshan Kriya breathing.

Time to choose to give our country in better hands !!

I received this email from a friend of mine and wanted to share it with you !

Current Indian Government now have taken the decision

A key recommendation of the Sachar committee — and also on the PM’s 15-point programme for minorities — a special panel set up by the Ministry recently recommended that in states where madrasa certificates are recognized as equivalent to secondary and senior secondary level, these should also be granted equivalence by the CBSE.
The notification is expected soon and will benefit some 7000 madrasas and 3.5 lakh students in seven states that have madrasa boards: Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Orissa, Assam and West Bengal. This will also apply to madrasa certificated already issued. Those students can apply for government jobs.

What exactly is this government trying to achieve? just a pleasing policy under the name of secularism or real development JUST TIME TO THINK

And Is it really worth?

and Will it really help Muslims’ Children? How can the Madrasa students be given CBSE equivalent certificates without modernized content? I am not critical of or opposed to the Madrasas as such. But I think that schemes for educational development of Muslim students should not be linked with Madrasa education.
Before this proposal is introduced, a lot needs to be done at the Madrasa level to put it on a par with mainstream schools. An equivalent certificate could make madrasa students “eligible” to apply for jobs, but will not ensure they get the job in a competitive environment unless curriculum is modernized. Because most of the madrasas in India teach purely theological education and not modern subjects.

Time to have deep thinking -

With no base at all are these policies from current government getting people together or widening the differences and creating vote banks ?

Mind magic

This is another example of an amazing illusion!!! The last sentence is so true.
If your eyes follow the movement of the rotating pink dot, the dots will remain only one color, pink. However if you stare at the black " +" in the centre, the moving dot turns to green.
Now, concentrate on the black " + " in the centre of the picture. After a short period, all the pink dots will slowly disappear, and you will only see only a single green dot rotating.
It's amazing how our brain works. There really is no green dot , and the pink ones really don't disappear. This should be proof enough, we don't always see what we think we see. Send this to all of your friends and amaze them.
