The Perfect Wave

The Wave Rose and the Wave Fell!

This is the story the other waves now tell...

From the depth of the ocean to the vast expanse to the sky

The little Wave wanted to touch the sky

Out there in the blue wilderness

Colourful weeds swayed, the fins' slipped

The quest to explore

     The 'dreamer' was high

Came the wind, the rain and the rocks beneath

The ships sailed and the surfers slid

Little Wave loved it all

The 'Perfect' Wave in itself had it all!

Yours truly

Non Violence

A question put to me by somebody:

i dont believe in non violence...what happened to all the peaceful people throughout history...mostly they were slaughtered. Look at the state of Hindus in Pakistan and Bangladesh, well these peaceful guys wont exist anymore.

Answer:
well well..maybe apparently true at some level

but if i rephrase it means u believe in violence. And by violence i hope u mean war and not the other kind of violence...

I am wondering about the violence which often breaks out in American schools...

Hitler is said to have committed suicide.

And i am sure i need not talk about Gandhiji and our freedom struggle

When you are totally non-violent (meaning even in the mind),violence just stops in your presence..It does, in case of His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji's Presence. This has to be experienced. It cannot be comprehended intellectually/logically.

There has been wars in our two greatest of Epics too.Jesus too was crucified. He is worshipped for what he stood..Love

Guruji says WAR is Worst Act of Reason ! It should be the last resort.

Peace and some amount of disturbance will always continue to co-exist..it always has...You have to decide, you are on which side.

Hope Americans are not considering a war for economic purposes :)

May peace prevail in all minds, hearts and all communities of the world...

Well packaged?

Of all these talks about terrorism, I have been pondering about another kind of terror that most of us are either not aware of or don’t acknowledge it but very much prevalent in our country. I am talking about the TERROR OF PEN which is very generously being used by our white-collared pseudo writers and so called sophisticated urbane columnists, some of who also like to call themselves as social workers (read: not knowing anything about our social economic scenario) typically dressed in cottons or bling and making statements over what would give them more publicity as if it were gospel truth!

I have a hearty laugh whenever they make/write ignorantly frivolous comments/columns. And most of it is based on other well known people or celebrities or on some stupid holiday trip they have been on!

Have they really contributed anything to the society I wonder? Or maybe they have by providing mere ‘masala’ to be sold by some media house to create sensationalism and churn money.

What could be the recipe for this ‘masala’ to create ‘dhamaka’?

Expressing their unwarranted opinion on incidents pending proper investigation, half baked stories, an unauthorized peek into some famous personality’s personal life and sometimes engaging in catfights with other media people/actors to garner attention. Such attention seekers…And add to it a cynical bent of mind.

Now have they really inspired anybody?

No! Or maybe a few handful of some wannabes’ who want to ape them to earn fame and money but definitely nothing beyond it.

Well I pray for these writers and columnists to get well soon :)
At the same time I pray for my fellow citizens to get ‘viveka’ or the power of discrimination between truth and ‘masala’.

May peace and light prevail in every mind !

Jai Hind!

Q & Ans

I’m in my 20’s. My friends head to the bar in the evenings – hanging out and drinking till late in the night. Why do we depend so much on alcohol?

Sri Sri: When an element of masti (unfettered enjoyment) is there, then you feel a certain connection with the world or universe; you enjoy the experience of losing your consciousness. People drink to experience a high; to lose themselves and forget everything. Alcohol cheats your brain into giving you a temporary feeling of elation. Alcohol can make you forget everything but the elevation you experience is only momentary. But when this elevation is already there; when your are already in masti with bhakti (devotion), you do not need a bottle to give you a high. You are already high and that celebration is so genuine. People attending a satsang often experience this sort of high. Satsang is neither serious nor boring; it’s a different kind of party and people really enjoy the party.

How can young people be persuaded to celebrate without alcohol? No Guruji is hovering around them to guide them this.

Sri Sri: Drinking is rampant among today’s youth. Most of them drink because of peer pressure; I would even say its mob mentality. The young need to understand that it’s just escapism and it’s harming their health.

We need a revolution of sorts to change things. A group of young people need to come forward to help others quit the unhealthy habit. They need to convince their friends that there are other options available that could give a high as well as bring genuine happiness. The options could include community service, music, and even some kind of adventure – anything that can take one towards bliss.

It’s a question of shifting habits from that which is unhealthy to what is healthy – and have fun. A group of your friends should gather together and resolve to avoid that which only gives temporary elation and move towards that which offers a much safer high.

Those who party often may drink regularly. Perhaps they really like it but you might notice most look bored. It’s just that they do it because they don’t know what else they can do. They drink only because someone else is drinking, they get led by a group activity, it’s almost like mob psychology, where nobody knows what they are doing, but they move with the flow nevertheless.
